Ⅰ．緒言

　Peet^36）によれば，1836年Smithによって初めてGasserian Ganglion Neurinolnaについて検討され，1849年にその報告がなされている，Trigeminal Neurinomaの頻度は，Schisano ＆ Olivecrona^38）によると，572例の脳腫瘍例中，0.2％であったと報告し，著者らの現在までの文献を検索した限りでも，自験例を加え，128例の報告がみられ，決してまれな疾患とはいえない．

　Trigeminal Neurinomaは，解剖学的に，テント下で小脳橋角部に位置するTrigeminal Nerve Rootから発生するRoot typeとテント上で，鞍背，ならびに錐体先端のすぐ外側に位置するGanglion Gasseriから発生するGanglion typeに分類される，これらの解剖学的位置関係から，この両者では，腫瘍の伸展，発育方向，すなわち，臨床像上の相違が明らかに認められる．文献上，Glasauerら^18）が述べているごとく，大部分はGanglion typeで，中頭蓋窩を主体としたTumorであり，後頭蓋窩に限局するRoot typeは，非常に少ないとされている．しかし，Ganglion typeかRoot typeかによってその治療指針，とくに，手術法が異なるため，術前の充分なる検索と同時に，その的確な診断が重要となる．

　Two cases of Neurinoma of the gasserian ganglion and the trigeminal root are reported.

　Case 1: A. 36-years-old man complained of numbness of the right side of the face and mandibular shift on opening the mouth from 1970. On admission he had, slightly hemiparesis and dysarthria. Angiography and pneumoencephalography showed large tumor in the middle cranial fossa and posterior fossa.

　Case 2: A. 54-years-old woman complained of numbness on the left side of the face and loss of corneal reflex. She had continuously headach and vomiting with papilledema.
