はじめに

　瞳孔は外から見える器官であり患者を診察する際に始めに診る部位である。通常はペンライトなどを用いてその反応を検査するが，瞳孔は神経疾患を診断する医師にとって重要な情報を提供してくれる器官である。

Abstract

Recent development of pupil-recording apparatus with special emphasis on infrared videopupillo-graphy has been introduced. Brief description of; anatomy of the pupil system, history of pupillo-graphy, infrared video-pupillography and modern apparatus to record pupillary responses has been made. A technique of pupil measurement, especially the method to record constant and reliable pupil-logram, has been introduced.

Clinical applications of pupillography to diabetes mellitus, pupillary involvement of Behcet disease, afferent pupillary defect and other diseases have been described.
