　チックは舞踏病，アテトーゼなどと並ぶ不随意運動の一種である。Gilles de la Tourette症候群（GTS）は，慢性，多発性に出現するチックを主症状とし，しばしばcoprolaliaを伴う症候群として広く知られているが^1,2），その病態に関する研究はいまだ不十分である。

　しかるにGTSは，小児期に発症し，前青春期までに軽減する場合も少なからずあり^1），その病態の基盤に，中枢神経系の発達というダイナミックな要素の関与も強く示唆される^1）。

Abstract

Tics are involuntary movements and among them Gilles de la Tourette Syndrome (GTS) is known as a disorder of chronic multiple tics often associated with coprolalia.

The pathophysiology and etiology of tics or GTS are not fully understood. The dysfunction of the basal ganglia and the limbic system, and the hyperactive dopaminergic (DA) state, either pre-synaptic hyperactivity and/or postsynaptic receptor supersensitivity, have been suggested as the pathophysiology. As to the etiology, multifactors including the genetic factors have been pointed out.
