PET findings of endogenous psychoses

まえがき

　内因性精神病と総称される分裂症と情動精神病すなわちそううつ病は，機能性精神病とも称される。その組織学的病変について古くはVogtら^5）の，わが国では立津ら^18,27）の，最近ではStevens^25）の，その他多くの業績がある。そしてX線CTの開発によって生体脳についての検索も数多くなされている^15）。しかし，それらの多くは，非特異的であったり，追証が困難であったり，疾患内での普遍性が認められるに至っていない。機能面での究明が求められてきた由縁である。

　近年になって，放射性同位元素の使用により，生体脳での機能検索が可能となった。

Abstract

Report on the PET findings of endogenous psychoses, namely schizophrenia and affective disorders or manic-depressive illness, were reviewed in reference to the findings with rCBF.

Regarding schizophrenia, low frontal activity,namely hypofrontality was evidenced by several PET investigations with ¹⁸FDG or ¹¹C-methionine. But this finding of hypofrontality was not unani-mous about schizophrenia, some investigators having not confirmed this with ¹⁸FDG or ¹⁵O₂.

The auther's study on chronic schizophrenia using ¹¹C-CO₂ and ¹¹C-glucose demonstrated hypo-frontality in only 7 out of 15 cases.
