  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

The principal findings revealed by our 18F-fluoro-2-deoxyglucose (18FDG) and 15O-oxygen study were reviewed in the former part of this paper.

 (1) The effect of surgical severing of fiber connections on the terminal gray matter was clearly demonstrated in the following examples. A patient with the injured left optic radiation showed a markedly decreased 18FDG uptake in the ipsilateral primary visual cortex. The extent of the decrease was larger in the secondary visual cortex (~60%).
