I．はじめに

　CNV（contingent negative variation）はexpectancy，attentionなどの心理状態に関連して発生する陰性の緩電位であり，1964年にWalterにより初めて報告された_20）。CNVの記録には2種類の刺激を組み合わせて条件づけを行なう。すなわち，第一の刺激S₁＝警告刺激（warning stimulus）に続き，一定の時間間隔をおいた後に，第二の刺激S₂＝命令刺激（imperative stimulus）を与え，S₂に対して被検者になんらかの反応を要求する時，S₁-S₂間に頭皮上より導出される陰性の電位変化がCNVである（Fig. 1）。著者のCNV記録法についてはpreliminary report^16）において発表した。そのさい，CNVの振幅が条件づけ内容に対する被検者のattention，concentrationと正の相関関係を，distractionとは負の相関関係を有するという事実^20,21）に基づき，注意集中について難易度の異なる3種類の条件下で記録を行なった。すなわち，条件①では，記録にさいして注意集中を妨害するdistracting stimuliを与えない。条件②では，脈絡のない一定の単語の組合わせの録音を聞かせながら記録する。条件③では，録音した音楽を聞かせながら記録する。

　CNV of the neurosurgical patients was reported with special reference to NPH cases. CNV recording with DC-amplifier was done under three experimental conditions which were different as to the level of difficulty in concentrating on the conditioned tasks.

　Under the first condition, CNV was recorded without distractive stimuli. Under the second condition, CNV was recorded during distraction by definite words in a meaningless context. Under the third condition, CNV was recorded during distraction by music.
