皮膚感覚受容器の微細構造とその病態—マイスネル小体とメルケル細胞を中心として

Normal and structurally abnormal cutaneous sensory receptors, with special reference to Meissner corpuscles and Merkel cells

　皮膚の感覚受容器としては，真皮乳頭層に存在するマイスネル小体，表皮基底にみられるメルケル細胞，真皮の中—下層に位置するパチニ小体などが有名である^1,2）。そのほかにも毛包周囲を取り巻く柵状神経終末とか，表皮内または真皮内自由神経終末などがある^1,2）。少なくとも形態学的には上述の諸構造物は古くから皮膚感覚受容器といわれている。しかしながら，それらの受容器の機能的裏づけ，すなわち感覚生理学的対応はいまだ不十分である。端的にいえば，どのような受容器がいかなる感覚の受容に働いているのかという点である。そこで，本稿では皮膚感覚受容器のうちのマイスネル小体，とメルケル細胞とを取り上げ，まずそれらの正常構造について述べ，ついでなるべく本特集号の意図に沿いつつそれらの微細構造から見た病態につき述べてみたい。編者の意図にいくぶんなりとも合致すれば幸いである。

　Normal and abnormal ultrastructures of cutaneous sensory receptors were reviewed, with particular reference to Meissner corpuscles and Merkel cells. Meissner corpuscles are composed of enlarged axons containing numerous mitochondria and flattened cytoplasmic processes protruding from lamellar cells. The axons are surrounded by these cytoplasmic processes. At 8 days after denervation, in the Meissner corpuscles of the foot pad skin in mice, the axons disappeared and the cytoplasmic processes of lamellar cells became very thin and dark.
