I．はじめに

　Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy（DMD）においては，これまでに生化学的および形態学的なサルコレンマ（sarcolemma, muscle plasma membrane，筋鞘膜）の異常が報告されている。その生化学的異常に関しては，本誌の他の項で述べられるので，本項では形態学的異常を中心に総括したい。

Summary

　This is a review paper of morphological abnormality in plasma membrane of the muscle fibers in Duchenne Dystrophy. Defects in continuity of plasma membrane in non-necrotic fibers have been reported, and electron cytochemical studies revealed focal decreases of Concanavalin A receptor sites overlying the external surface of the muscle fiber membrane. Freeze fracture electron microscopic studies have shown both increase and decrease of the intramembranous particles.
