小児脳腫瘍とアデノウイルス12型誘発脳腫瘍

Infantile human brain tumors and adenovirus type 12-induced tumors

　Yabeら^15）によって発癌性が明らかにされたアデノウイルス12型（Ad 12）は齧歯類の未分化な神経外胚葉性細胞を選択的に腫瘍化せしめる^10,11）。このウイルスを新生仔の頭蓋内に接種すると動物の種により種々な頻度で未分化な脳脊髄腫瘍を発生する。特徴的なことは，標的細胞の種類と分化の度合に対するAd12の親和性がきわめて選択的で，腫瘍の組織学的表現型が一定の枠内に限定されることである。組織像にばらつきが少ないこの特徴は既知発癌ウイルスの誘発腫瘍に比し腫瘍の比較病理学的検索に有利である^12）。

　そこで本シンポジウムではAd12誘発脳腫瘍について発癌状態の概要を述べ，形態分化に乏しいその組織像を分析し，これをヒトの乳幼児型脳腫瘍と比較検討してご批判を仰ぎたいと思う。

Abstract

　Adenovirus type 12 (Ad 12) induces undifferentiated neuroectodermal tumors in the peripheral and central nervous system of rodents. The predilection sites of intracranial tumors are the olfactory lobes, paraventricular areas of the lateral ventricle, especially its cornual regions, the tapetum, and areas around the fourth ventricle, all of which are close to the ventricular system. Early microtumors were observed in the subependymal areas 4~8 weeks after the virus inoculation.

　All tumors induced by Ad 12 show a marked undifferentiated histological picture with high cellularity.
