はじめに

　近年，重症筋無力症（以下M. G. と略す）の発生に自己免疫機転が想定されてきたが，現在その理由には次の3つの点を指摘しうるであろう。

　1）血中に抗骨格筋抗体（Muscle Binding Gamma-globulin，M. B. G. G.）を証明すること。　2）橋本病，RA，SLEなどの自己免疫疾患合併例が多いこと。　3）免疫調節機構の中枢の1つと見做される胸腺の異常（腫瘍あるいは増生など）を証明すること。

　Significantly high incidence of thymic abnormalities have been found to be associated with myasthenia gravis. Lymph folicles with germina centers were demonstrated within the medulla of the thymus in approximatory 80% of myasthenic patients without thymoma in the authors' experience.

　Naturally the question arose whether germinal centers would exist within the non-tumorous thymic tissue of the myasthenic patients with thymoma or not.
