Ⅰ．緒言
筆者らは近親繁殖を行なつているシャムネコの一家系において，同一母子交配による産子6腹中，3腹6例に共通する神経疾患の発生を認め，その中2腹3例を病理学的に検査した結果，Tay-Sachs病に酷似する所見を得たことを報告した1）。近年lipidosisに関する研究の進歩は著しく，蓄積物質の生化学的，電子顕微鏡的検討が緊要となつている。筆者らは上記3例について電顕的観察を行ない，神経細胞内にmembranous cytoplasmic bodies（MCB）の蓄積など，特徴ある所見を認めたので，以下に記載する。
In the previous report1), the authors reported the pedigree, symptoms and histopathology of a nervous disease of Siamese cats, and concluded that the disease closely resembled Tay-Sachs disease. Electron microscopic studies were carried out on these three cases, and the following results were obtained.
1) The cytoplasm of practically all neurons was filled with numerous membranous cytoplasmic bodies (MCB), like those in Tay-Sachs disease.
