昭和44年9月から昭和45年1月にかけて浦和附近にhand-foot-mouth disease （以下，HFMDと略す）の流行があつた．昭和44年夏から年末にかけて関東地方に広域の流行があつたことは山本ら1）が述べており，ここに述べる症例はそれの一部をなすものであるが，文献に記載のない所見があるので症例報告したい．浦和市の当病院で昭和44年典型的臨床症状を確認した12例の報告である．
Statistic and virological studies of hand-footmouth disease were performed in 12 cases seen at the author's hospital from September, 1969 to January, 1970, when there was an epidemic in the Urawa City area. Coxsackie A16 virus was isolated and identified from the pharynx and/or feces of 7 cases examined with the progress of the disease.
Histologic specimen of the vesicle showed bulla formation and necrosis with ballooning and reticular degeneration.
