はじめに

　白癬性毛瘡（Sycosis trichophytica）はSy-cosis parasitaria, Trichophytia barbae, Tineabarbae, Barttrichophytie, Bartflechteなどと呼ばれ古くから知られている鬚髯部の深在性白癬であるが，本邦における本症の報告例はけつして多くはない。

　著者らは最近，紅色菌（Trichphyton rubrum）による本症の2例を経験したので，ここに報告し現在までの本邦報告例とあわせて，若干の考察を試みたい。

Two cases of tinea barbae caused by Trichophyton rubrum were reported. Skin condition, laboratory studies, especially mycological findings, and the course of the lesion by the adminis-tration of griseofulvin were described in detail. Comparing the two cases with the statistical data obtained from the Japanese literatures, the authors considered the cases to be the acute form of tinea barbae. It was further suggested that the excess application of the adreno-cortico-steroid hormone might play some role on the increased incidence of this disease.
