　はじめに

　近年，抗生物質の普及により急性乳様突起炎は激減しているが，稀に重篤な合併症を起こす危険性がある。

　今回われわれは，急性乳様突起炎が頬骨突起部へ波及し，同部位から骨膜下膿瘍をきたした成人の1例を経験したので報告する。

An acute mastoiditis has lately become rare because of the advent of antibiotics. However, some cases with severe complications has still been report-ed.

A 45-year-old man presented with the right zygomatico-mastoiditis with a subperiosteal abs-cess. Chief complaints were a swelling and pain in front of the right ear. CT scan showed the soft tissue density area in the right zygomatic and mastoid regions with subperiosteal abscess. Mastoidectomy and obliteration of the postoperative space with a temporal muscle flap were performed by staged operations. Clinical course was uneventful at the time of this reported.
