A Case of Bezold Mastoiditis

はじめに

　医療の発達および抗生剤の普及によって，中耳炎に伴う重篤な合併症に遭遇する機会は激減した。なかでも，Bezold乳様突起炎は教科書的には身近であるが，本邦において1960年以降の文献的報告は4症例のみであり，非常に稀な疾患となった。

　今回われわれは，慢性真珠腫性中耳炎に罹患しながらアルコール中毒性精神障害のため十分な治療を受けられず，Bezold乳様突起炎を引き起こした1症例を経験したので報告する。

A 54-year-old man with untreated cholesteatoma and severe alcoholism presented with Bezold mastoiditis. The causative organism isolated was an anaerobe, peptostreptococcus.

There have been only 5 case reports including ours since 1960. In a suspicious case of Bezold mastoiditis the causative bacteria including ana-erobes can be isolated. Antibiotic sensitivities should be determined, and early diagnosis and surgery are mandatory.
