　はじめに

　髄膜腫は一般に頭蓋内・脊椎管内のクモ膜細胞から発生することが知られている。しかし，これらの領域以外に発生する，いわゆる異所性髄膜腫もまれながらいくつか報告されている。これまで報告されている異所性の発生部位としては，眼窩内，皮膚および皮下組織，側頭骨内，鼻・副鼻腔内などがある。今回，われわれは篩骨洞に発生した髄膜腫の1例を経験したので，若干の文献的考察を加えて報告する。

In this report, a rare case of ectopic meningioma in right ethmoid sinus with ipsilateral exophthalmos was presented. CT showed in the right ethmoid sinus a heterogeneously calcified 40 mm × 30 mm sized mass which seemed to have an egg like shell. The tumor was removed with anterior craniofacial approach. The operation was performed with the modified technique of handling the cribriform plate to preserve the olfaction which was proposed by Spetzler et al. The right exophthalmos diminished and olfaction was preserved after surgical treat-ment.
