興味ある発生過程を呈した上顎エナメル上皮腫例

A Case of Maxillary Ameloblastoma

　はじめに

　エナメル上皮腫は歯原性腫瘍の中では比較的発生頻度が高いが，その多くは下顎に発生し上顎に発生することは少ない^1）。今回われわれは，左上顎洞の濾胞性歯嚢胞として手術を行い，その7年後に同じ部位に発生したエナメル上皮腫の1例を経験したので報告する。

A 24-year-old man received a conservative sur-gery for a unicystic lesion in the left maxillary sinus, which was histologically diagnosed as dentigerous cyst. Seven years later, the patient visit-ed again our hospital with a complaint of rhinor-rhea. Preoperative examinations suggested amelo-blastoma in the left maxillary sinus, leading to a complete removal of the tumor, which proved to be ameloblastoma. The present case suggested us that thorough pathological examination of a totally removed cyst is necessary to avoid incorrect diagno-sis, when otorhinolaryngologists meet a unicystic lesion of the maxillary sinus.
