　はじめに

　顔面や頸部の皮下気腫は，頭頸部手術後にしばしばみられるが，日常診察においては比較的稀である。それらは頸部の腫脹のため，原因の如何にかかわらず耳鼻科を受診することが多い。

　今回われわれは，歯科治療後，右の側頭部から両側鎖骨上部まで広範囲に広がった顔面・頸部皮下気腫の1症例を経験したので報告する。

A 47-year-old female was complaining of at swell-ing and pain of the right cheek and neck. She was treated by a dentist on her second molar tooth at theright mandibule, using a dental air turbine and air syringe. On esamination, there was crepitation in the bilateral temporal region and bilateral supra-clavicular region. X-ray showed subcutaneous em-physema in the bilateral neck. She was treated immediately with antibiotics and rest in bed. The swelling of the neck and subcutaneous emphysema disappeared after one week.
