はじめに
頭頸部癌の手術では，頸部郭清術などで甲状腺に手術操作が及ぶことが多い。甲状腺疾患の術後の甲状腺，副甲状腺機能の報告は多いが，甲状腺を除く頭頸部癌術後の機能の報告はほとんどみられない。
今回，本院で施行した頭頸部癌術後の甲状腺，副甲状腺機能について検討を行い二，三の知見を得たので報告する。
Thyroid and parathyroid functions of the post operative patients with head and neck carcinomas excluding thyroid cancer were analyzed. In 33 patients, serum TSH, free T3, free T4, intact PTH,and hypersensitive PTH were examined.
All patients received total thyroidectomy showed hypothyroidism, and 10 patients out of 18 (56%) who underwent hemithyroidectomy showed hypo-thyroidism. Hypoparathyroidism was occured in 5 out of 7 patients (71%) after total thyroidectomy. Five out of 12 patients (42%) after hemithyroidec-tomy showed hypoparathyroidism.
Periodical monitoring of thyroid and parathyroid function of the patients who received hemi- or total thyroidectomy is necessary postoperatively.
