　はじめに

　中耳傍神経節腫は，glomus jugulare tumorとglomus tympanicum tumorが含まれるが，1945年Rosenwasser^1）の最初の報告以来，欧米では数多くの報告がみられる。わが国では1956年切替ら^2）の報告以来，学会報告を含めて60余例の報告をみるにすぎず，比較的稀な疾患である。組織学的には良性であるが浸潤性発育を示し，臨床的には悪性に準じて取り扱われることが多く，そのため早期診断，早期治療の重要性が指摘されている。

　今回われわれは，鼓室に限局したglomus tym-panicum tumorの初期症例を経験したので文献的考察を加えて報告する。

An early glomus tympanicum tumor in a 45 year-old woman complaining of unilateral pulsa-tile tinnitus was reported. Otoscopic examination revealed a retrotympanic reddish mass, and high resolution CT scan demonstrated an enhanced mass in the hypotympanum without any bone erosion around the jugular bulb. The tumor was completely removed by transcanal tympanotomy without excessive hemorrhage. No recurrence of the tumor was confirmed 7 years after surgery. Sixteen cases previously reported in Japan were reviewed from a clinical perspective involving presentation, diagnostic evaluation, and thera-peutic management.
