稀有なる咽頭脂肪肉腫

A RARE PHARYNGEAL LIPOSARCOMA

　I．はじめに

　脂肪肉腫は軟部組織に発生する原発性悪性腫瘍のなかでは多くみられるものである。しかし咽頭における脂肪肉腫はきわめて稀であり，文献上でもその報告はほとんどみられない。

　最近われわれはその貴重なる症例に遭遇したので報告する。

　A man, aged 75, complaining of a swelling in the right mandibular and pharyngeal regions, who suddenly developed dyspnea during the period of hospitalization and observation, is reported. The patient's history revealed that the mass first began to appear abont 30 years ago, with repeated attacks thereafter. On each of these occassions he was operated upon, elsewhere, but was rewarded only with recurrences.

　For the operative removal of the mass external approach was used. The bulk of the mass, found in the parapharyngeal and retropharyngeal spaces, was easily separated from the surrounding tissues, except at places it was closely adherent.

　Histopathological examination showed the mass as a round cell typed liposarcoma considered malignant.

　Pharyngeal liposarcoma is a rare finding. No report of such nature is found in the literature of this country for the period of recent 20 years ; there is only a report of single instance in those of America and Europe.
