　はじめに

　術後性上顎嚢胞の画像診断は普通X線撮影法のみでは困難であるが，X線CTが普及し，その診断は容易となった。しかし被爆，経費，時間等の諸問題が残る。

　今回は術後性上顎嚢胞の画像診断法としてX線CTと超音波検査（Aモード，Bモード法）を併用し，これらの結果を手術所見と比較検討して超音波検査の有用性と限界について報告する。

Fifty-four cases of postoperative maxillary muco-celes were investigated using A- and B-mode ultra-sonography, CT and MRI.

The characteristic images by the B-mode ultra-sonography are as follows:

1) irregularity of defect at the anterior sinus wall

2) scar echo at the anterior sinus wall

3) oval-shaped cystic wall

4) homogenous by an abscent or low echo in the content

5) posterior cyst wall at the depth of 40~50 mm from the skin surface

6) enhanced posterior echo

The correct diagnosis as to the presence of mucoceles was obtained in 93% by the B-mode ultrasonography. And the correct diagnosis for single mucocele was 77%, and for multiple mucoceles, 38%.
