I．はじめに

　鼻副鼻腔悪性腫瘍の中で前頭洞癌の占める比率はきわめて低く，しばしば問題となるのは他の前頭洞疾患，ことに前頭洞嚢胞との鑑別である。われわれは術前の諸検査により前頭洞嚢胞を疑い，手術によって前頭洞癌と判明した症例を経験したので報告し，併せて文献的考察を加えた。

A 75-year-old female complained of blurred vision and a left upper eyelid swelling. Routine ENT examinations and image diagnoses including CT pointed to a mucocele in the left fronto-ethmoidal region. An extranasal frontal sinusectomy was performed under general anesthesia. Left frontal sinus was filled with caseous mass with hard granulation which turned out to be squamous carcinoma upon a frozen section report. Left total sinusectomy was done followed by a full course of irradiation. Previous reports of frontal sinus carcinoma in Japan were reviewed. A total of 65 cases was reported, of which 20% were diagnosed as carcinomas preoperatively.
