I．はじめに

　扁平上皮癌関連抗原（以下SCC抗原）は子宮頸部扁平上皮癌の肝転移巣より分離されて，TA−4（1977年に加藤らによって報告された腫瘍関連物質）と共通抗原性を有し，TA−4の亜種と考えられる分子量45,000の蛋白質である。SCC抗原は正常者の血中にもわずかに存在するが，正常扁平上皮組織と扁平上皮癌ではSCC抗原産生能には明らかな相違が認められており，とくに子宮頸部扁平上皮癌の診断および経過観察において有用性が高いと報告^1〜6,10）されている。頭頸部腫瘍症例における報告も最近散見するが，われわれも血清SCC抗原の測定を行い検討したので報告する。

"Squamous cell carcinoma related antigen" or SCCRA as a tumor-marker was clinically investi-gated. Its titer was examined in 162 cases of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in the head and neck. The ratio of positivity was high in SCC cases of well differentiated type and of a large bulk-tumor in the nose, paranasal sinus, tongue, hypopharynx and the floor of the mouth. In follow-up study, early recurrence of tumors was revealed in many cases. It was concluded that SCCRA is assumed to be an useful marker in the head and neck tumors.
