I．緒言

　近年，悪性腫瘍の化学療法の発展には著しいものがあるが，一部には平衡障害をはじめとする神経障害を副作用として惹起する薬剤も存在する。carmofur　（1—hexylcarbamoyl−5—fluorouracil, HCFU）はOzakiら^1）によって合成された5—FUのmasked compoundで，体内で徐々に5—FUを放出する経口の抗腫瘍剤であるが，中枢神経障害を惹起することが知られるようになってきた。われわれはcarmofurによると考えられた平衡障害3症例を経験したので，神経耳科学的所見を中心に報告する。

The authors presented three cases with disequi-librium caused by carmofur, a 5-FU derivative. Patients were a 47-year-old male suffered from colonic cancer with liver metastases, a 67-year-old male with colonic cancer and a 82-year-old male with nasopharyngeal cancer.

Neurotological findings-direction changing apo-geotropic positional nystagmus, downward-beating positioning nystagmus, saccadic pursuit, ocular dysmetria and loss of visual suppression-suggested that disequilibrium in these cases might be caused mainly by cerebellar lesions.

In addition, the first patient showed extra-pyramidal signs and disturbance of consciousness and the second patient manifested mental change. These signs and symptoms suggested that there also existed supra-tentorial lesions.
