著しい骨肥厚を伴った前頭洞篩骨洞嚢胞症例

A Case of Fronto-ethmoidal Mucocele with Remarkable Bone Thickening

I．緒言

　最近筆者らは前頭洞の粘液嚢胞が前頭蓋窩内にたきく進展し，その後方および下方の骨壁が著しく肥厚しているため画像診断上特異な像を呈した前頭洞節骨洞嚢胞症例を経験した。本症例において前頭洞の後壁などの著しい骨肥厚の成因に関して若干の考察を加えたので報告する。

　A 53-year-old female with a fronto-ethmoidal mucocele accompanied with a remarkable bone thickening in the posterior wall of the frontal sinus was presented. The mucocele and the bone thickening were removed by frontal craniotomy.

　The histopathological examination suggested that there was chronic inflammation in the cyst wall and the bone thickening was formed long ago. It was presumed that the remarkable bone thickening resulted from proliferative new bone formation due to chronic inflammation and slow progressive extension of the mucocele.
