はじめに

　近年，建築工法の変化や建築機器の効率化によって，強力でhandyな自動釘打ち機が開発され頻繁に用いられるようになったため，本機器による事故が増加している。その受傷原因のうち13％は自殺企図によるものであり，受傷部位は80％が頭蓋で，頸部の報告は1例のみであった^1）。

　今回われわれは，自殺企図にて自身の頸部に自動釘打ち機で釘を8本打ち込み，緊急手術により救命し，後遺症なく退院した1症例を経験したので報告する。

　A 69-year-old man, who committed suicide himself by a nail-gun underwent emergency tracheotomy and removal of nails because of the X-ray and CT scan findings with 8 nails in the right cervical area. Despite a massive hemorrhage from the cervical vertebra after the removal of nails, the surgery was securely undertaken. On the 40th day after the surgery, he recovered to a good outcome with no neurological deficits.

　To the best of our knowledge based on a thorough search of the literature, there was one report other than ours regarding a nail-gun injury in the cervical lesion.
