（26A-4）　同一術者による白内障手術，小切開，円形前嚢切除，超音波乳化吸引術および眼内レンズ挿入を施行した78眼について，術中の水晶体上皮細胞（LEC）除去の有無により，LEC除去群（40眼）とLEC非除去群（38眼）の2群に分け，術後前嚢切除窓（ACO）面積とその減少率を経時的に測定，比較検討した。LECは自動灌流吸引チップを用いて機械的に吸引除去した。ACO面積減少率はLEC除去群のほうが1週，1か月，3か月，6か月の全ての測定時点で低く，LECを除去することは後発白内障の予防になりうると考えられた。ACO面積を測定することは，術後のLEC動態についての一指標になりうる可能性がある。

We quantitated the rate of reduction of anterior capsular opening following cataract surgery in 78 eyes. The surgical procedure comprised small incision, continuous circular capsulorhexis, phacoemulsification-aspilation and intraocular lens implantation. The lens epithelial cells were removed in 40 eyes using the irrigation-aspiration tip. No epithelial cell removal was performed in the other 38 eyes. The rate of reduction of anterior capsular opening was less in the former group at each of 1 week, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months after surgery. The findings seemed to show the effectiveness of lens epithelial cell removal in preventing constriction of anterior capsule and aftercataract.
