　白内障手術中にZinn小帯が断裂した3眼で，虹彩レトラクターで水晶体嚢を拡げることを試みた。断裂が120^°以内の2眼ではこれが成功し，眼内レンズを費内に固定できた。断裂が180^°に及ぶ1眼では2個のレトラクターを使用しても嚢が拡がらず，最終的に眼内レンズを6時と12時の位置に毛様満縫着した。この方法は簡便で，水晶体前世の円形切開が維持でき，小帯断裂が広範囲でない場合には有用である。

We attempted to expand the opening of the lens capsule using iris retractors in 3 eyes in which the zonule of Zinn ruptured during cataract surgery. This attempt succeeded in 2 eyes in which the rupture extended over 120 degrees or less, allowing in-the-bag fixation of intraocular lens. In the other eye in which the rupture extended over 180 degrees, use of two retractors failed to expand the opening of the lens capsule, so that the intraocular lens had to be fixated in the sulcus at 6 and 12 o'clock positions. This procedure is easy to perform and is useful in maintaining the opening of the lens capsule when the rupture of the zonule is limited in extent.
