　ドルーゼンが原因と考えられる老人性円板状黄斑変性の1例を経験した。症例は54歳の男性。初診時，矯正視力は右1.2，左0.02。両側眼底に，広範囲に多数のドルーゼンを認めた。後極部のものはsoft drusen，周辺部のものはharddrusenであった。左眼黄斑部に，網膜下新生血管と網膜色素上皮下の出血斑を認めた。止血剤や循環改善剤を投与した。徐々に左眼の出血が吸収され，初診時より9か月後には左眼視力0.3と改善した。しかし，左眼の網膜下新生血管は増大した。両眼に広範囲に存在するドルーゼンをみた場合，特にそれがsoft drusenである場合には，網膜下新生血管の発生に十分注意すべきである。

A 54-year-old male presented with impaired visual acuity and central scotoma in his left eye since one month before. He was diagnosed as senile disciform macular degeneration on account of sub-retinal neovascularization, hemorrhage beneath the retinal pigment epithelium and proliferation in hisleft macula. Both eyes manifested numerous drusen of various sizes throughout the whole fundus. Soft drusen were predominant in the central fundus and hard ones in the more periphery. This case seemed to illustrate the close causal relationship between macular drusen and senile disciform macular degen-eration.
