　46歳女性が左眼の視野欠損を主訴に来院し，眼底には嚢状の網膜剥離と大量の滲出物を認めた。精査の結果，腫瘍等は否定され，成人型Coats病と診断された。この患者に網膜剥離手術と血管病変部の徹底的な網膜凝固を行った。術中に採取した網膜下液の塗抹標本にfoam cellを認め，組織学的にもCoats病と診断された。

A 46-year-old female presented with bullous retinal detachment and massive subretinal exudate in her left eye. She was diagnosed as adult-typeCoats' disease. Subretinal fluid was aspirated dur-ing surgery for retinal detachment. Numerous foam cells were present in the subretinal fluid. The find-ing was compatible with that of Coats' disease.
