　中間透光体混濁のために網膜光凝固が十分に行うことのできなかった症例12例14眼に対して，Panfundoscope^® とクリプトンレーザーを併用することにより十分な凝固効率を得ることができた．中間透光体混濁の種類は，白内障・硝子体出血・シリコンオイルであった．凝固効率の改善の理由は（1） Panfundoscope^® による集光での散乱・吸収の減少，（2）クリプトンレーザーの波長特性の2点による．特に中間透光体混濁の強い症例・混濁の程度の変化が大きい症例については，照射時間の上限を設定しておいてからフットスイッチによる調節をすることで手技が簡便となった．

We successfully performed red krypton laser photocoagulation in 14 eyes with turbid media with the use of Panfundoscope^®. Previous attempts of laser treatment using Goldmann three-mirror lens had failed because of poor visibility of the fundus caused by vitreous hemorrhage 3 eyes, cataract 6 eyes, cataract and vitreous hemorrhage 4 eyes and intravitreal silicone oil 1 eye. The cases includedretinal vein occlusions 4 eyes, diabetic retinopathy 8 eyes, retinal detachment 2 eyes and vitreous hemor-rhage treated by vitrectomy 1 eye.

The use of Panfundoscope allowed a better obser-vation of the fundus through the turbid media. Further, it caused more effective penetration of the laser energy due to lesser scattering and absorption by the media.
