  • Look Inside

A 24-year-old female presented with episcleritis and interstitial keratitis in her right eye. The ker-atitis was characterized by infiltration and neovas-cularization in deeper layer of peripheral cornea. Corneal neovascularization was also present in theleft eye. Her elder brother had suffered from pulmo-nary tuberculosis 4 years before. Tuberculin skin test with PPD was negative in her. Chest X-ray showed inflammatory shadow in both lungs. Other physical findings for tuberculosis were negative. We started treatment with topical corticosteroid and systemic anti-tuberculosis regimen. Keratitis and episclerisis subsided 2 months later. The pulmo-nary lesions healed in 6 months. The present case illustrates that tuberculosis may still be the cause of interstitial keratitis.
