　両眼の周辺部sclerocorneaと虹彩，隅角形成不全を合併した56歳の女性の症例を報告した．鼻下側に強膜化した角膜があり，虹彩，隅角形成不全もこの部分において著しかった．近年提唱されているmesenchymal dysgenesisは角膜，虹彩，隅角などの発生異常を包括する広い疾患概念であり本症例に観察されたsclerocorneaと虹彩，隅角形成不全はこの中に含まれている．透明性のある非強膜化部の角膜内皮細胞をスペキュラーマイクロスコープにより観察し，内皮細胞面積を測定したところ正常内皮細胞に比べて面積の拡大，大小不同がみられた．

A 56-year-old female manifested mesenchymal dysgenesis of the cornea, iris and the chamber angle in both eyes. She was diagnosed as bilateral peripheral sclerocornea. We examined the endothelium of the clear central cornea with specular miscoscope. The endo-thelial cell size was 734+289 μm² and 809+396 μm² for the right and the left eye, showing much larger and gross fluctuating cell sizes.

The findings seems to indicate that the corneal en-dothelium is involved in the clear central part as well as in the sclerozed part of peripheral sclerocornea.
