非調節性間歇性内斜視の臨床像

Clinical features of non-accommodative intermittent esotropia

　非調節性間歇性内斜視と考えられる3歳から14歳までの17名が次の臨床症状を呈した。3歳前後に間歇性の内斜視が突然発症し，遠見，近見に関係なく大きな斜視角の動揺を認める。屈折異常との相関はなく，調節異常はみられず，視力は良く，左右差がない。両眼視機能は良好で，眼振はなく，交代性上斜位は証明されない。また脳波検査ではすべての症例で異常所見があった。このような臨床症状を示す内斜視は従来報告がなく，我々はこの非調節性間歇性内斜視は独立した疾患単位とするべきものと考えた。

We evaluated the clinical features of non-accom-modative intermittent esotropia in 17 patients aged 3 to 14 years. Intermittent esotropia became mani-fest at the age of 3 years. They were characterized by widely fluctuating squint angle regardless of the visual distance. They were free of accommodativedisorders or laterality. The visual acuity was satis-factory with good binocular visual function. They were free of nystagmus or dissociated vertical divergence (DVD). Electroencephalogram was abnormal in all the cases. To our best knowledge, esotropia with above features has not been reported in literature. We postulate that this type of non -accommodative intermittent esotropia he regard-ed as an idependent clinical entity.
