　早期ルベオーシス眼28眼，高度ルベオーシス眼10眼の虹彩ルベオーシス所見につき検討した。

　細隙灯顕微鏡で発見しがたい微細なルベオーシスも虹彩螢光撮影で発見可能であった。

　早期ルベオーシス眼の瞳孔縁出現部位は上方縁に多い傾向にあった。

　ルベオーシス眼には広範な無血管帯・乳頭新生血管が高率に合併していた。

　早期ルベオーシス眼の光凝固療法は71％に有効で，特に瞳孔縁のみにルベオーシスが見られた例にルベオーシスの消褪をみた例があった。褐色虹彩においても，虹彩螢光撮影によるルベオーシスの早期発見は可能で，その臨床的意義は高いものと思われた。

A consecutive series of 38 eyes (29 cases) with rubeosis iridis were evaluated by means of iris fluorescein angiography. The rubeosis was in its early stage in 28 eyes and in a severe stage in 10 eyes. Diabetic retinopathy served as the underly-ing cause in 23 eyes in the early stage and in all the eyes in the severe stage.

Fluorescein angiography of the iris was a more accurate means of diagnosis as it revealed newly formed vessels not readily visible under slitlamp microscope. Iris neovascularization occurred in any part of the pupillary margin and more frequent-ly in the superior quandrant.
