緒　言

　Mooren潰瘍はただでさえ難治性，あるいは不治の眼病であるが，これに白内障を併発すると事態は甚だ悲惨となり，患者は不断の激痛と失明に耐えかねて，ついには眼球摘出を望むに至る。

　ところが，こうした眼を救う方法は，いまだ報告されていない。そこで私は，いろいろと工夫や試行を重ねた末，幸いにも最近の2例を完全に救うことができて，患者と喜びを共にした。

Mooren's ulcer is an intractable and someti-mes incurable eye disorder. When it is complica-ted by cataract the situation becomes disastrous and the most patients finally want the removal of their blind painful eyes. Nevertheless, no report has appeared, to the best of my knowl-edge, concerning the treatment of this situati-on. Recently, I succeeded in saving two cases with cataract and Mooren's ulcer. The following steps have been employed in the procedure.

1. Necrotic debris and regenerating epithelium on the ulcer are thoroughly removed, and the remaining epithelium of the unaffected corneal area is also scraped off.
