緒　言

　眼底病変のうち，黄斑部に起る浮腫・出血・浸潤・瘢痕形成などは，直接視機能に影響を及ぼすことにより重大な問題であるが，これら黄斑部病変の発症機序については十分に解明されていない。

　最近，いくつかの黄斑部疾患に脈絡膜由来の血管新生が証明され注目をあびている。黄斑に浮腫，網膜下浸潤，出血を伴つて発症するRieger型中心性滲出性網脈絡膜炎は，増田型中心性網膜炎とは異なつた予後と経過を示す疾患であり，これに遭遇することは稀ではない。

I examined and followed up 48 cases with cent-ral exudative retinochoroidopathy (Rieger). Both sexes were involved with 23 males against 25 females. The age of the patients ranged from 20 to 50 years. Five patients were bilaterally affected. The incidence of this clinical entity was apparently low when compared with central serous retinochoroidopathy, which occurred 15 times more by us during the same observation period.

Immunological studies indicated that the cent-ral exudative retinochoroidopathy was not etio-logically associated either with tuberculosis, to-xoplasmosis or histoplasmosis to a significant deg-ree.
