緒言

　網膜剥離は比較的屡々みられる疾患である。例えば，当教室の天野氏^9）によると1955年度の順天堂眼科外来に於ける疾患総数17,508眼中52眼0.3％の頻度に発生している。然し一家系中に網膜剥離が多発したという例はそう頻繁に認められるものではない。我国の文献上では寺田氏，石川氏，出羽氏，宮崎氏等の報告があるのみである。

　今回私は高度近視を有する叔母，甥の間に発生した特発性網膜剥離に遭遇する機会を得たので追加報告する。

The author observed two patients with simple detachment of the retina accompanied with high myopia. The patients were connected by blood relationship (aunt and nephew). The author operated them by shortening the eyeball by scleral resection or by diathermy, and cured the detachment. The author investigated, afterwards, their family line and found one person with high myopia accompanied with cystic degenerations. About the development of the detachment of the retina in this family, the author considered whether the detachment was a complication of the high myopia or the myopia.
