Ⅰ．はしがき

　昭和22年以来，市立札幌病院眼科において行つた網膜剥離手術は150例である。その初期には，Weveの基本的ジアテルミー法を行つて来たが，31年度において，続発性剥離に対する部分層切除とジアテルミー併用法の良好な結果を得て以来，32,33年度にはジアテルミー1・部分層切除2の割で手術を行い，33年末にいたり，星状皺襞をもつ巨大裂孔例の手術経験から鞏膜凸隆術^1）の優秀性を知り，34年度には殆んど無選択に全例に人工軟骨埋没術を行つた。本術式を始めてより日尚浅く，観察期間も充分ではないが，術後2ヵ月以上を経過せるもの12例において，予想以上の好成績が得られたので，予報的にその成績をのべ，諸家の批判を願う次第である。

Evaluation of the diathermy, the scleral lamellar resection (with diathermy) and the "Scleral Buckling" with the artificial cartilage, treated in the sapporo municipal generalHospital, is discussed.

The results of the operation are shown in the following table.

However there appeared no maked difference between these three methods as far as the percentage of cure is concerned, the excellent results were obtained by both the resection and the "Buckling" treatment of cases, for which some times the unfavorable prospect might be brought out by the diathermy.
