　黄斑円孔の手術的治療法の代表的なものとしては，眼球背後からのDiathermie法，特殊な器械を用いるDiathermie法，Endodiathermie^2）法及びLicht-koagulation法がある。この内，Lichtkoagulation法は，最も確実な，進歩した方法として，勝れた成績を示している^1）3）4）。

　そして，この方法には，発案者Meyer-Schwickerathが，日蝕観測により黄斑部障害を起した患者から思い付いたと云うエピソードがあり，Lichtkoagulationの実験の初期には光源として大陽が選ばれた。しかし大陽は赤外線と紫外線量が多く，術後障害を起すので，人工光線を光源とする方向に研究が進んだ。そしてMeyer病SchwickerathはLichtkoagulator装置を完成した。しかし本装置は未だ我国には輸入されてない現状である。

A case of retinal detachment with macular hole could be cured through solar coagulation.

A patient-female 58 aged gazed the sun with his healthy eye through a red-green-blue protective glass and directly with his diseased eye which was corrected with a concavelens.

The exposure conditions were as follows.

Energy of sunlights was ca. 1.3cal/cm². min (solar constant. 1.94). Diameter of the pupil of the diseased eye was 7mm. The exposure times were 60 sec and 30sec and the interval of each exposure was 120sec.
