緒言

　著者は第1報において，炉前作業者，第2報において糖尿病患者の前眼部血管の形態的病変，特に毛細血管瘤を検査した結果，眼球結膜の露出部における変化は外界の影響を蒙り易いために所見が多いが，糖尿病患者の隠蔽部結膜にも変化が多く見られるのは，全身血管変化の一つの現われとして解し得るとの結論を得た。この眼球結膜血管瘤は角膜顕微鏡によつて観察され，又，写真にも撮影されてその形態を確認することが出来たが，之を組織学的に染色し証明したという報告がないので著者は之を試みた結果，糖尿病患者に見られる網膜毛細血管瘤と形態的に相似していることが判明したのでここに報告する次第である。

10 bulbar conjunctivae removed from bulbi of 5 post-mortem were laid flat and examined by means of PAS-stain. Conjunctival micro-aneurysms were found in 2 of those 10. They showed saccular dilatations with afferent. and efferent connections and stained intense purple. These bulbi with conjunctival micro-aneurysms were found to have characteristic diabetic retinal micro-aneurysms.

Ashton (1949) investigated 21 cases of diabetes in order to correlate histological changes in the retinal vessels with those in the vessels elsewhere in the body. No micro-aneurysms were found in the conjunctiva of post-mortem or biopsy specimens.
