1．緒言

　眼科領域に於ける梅毒性疾患は，皮膚泌尿器科領域のそれと異り，感染後相当の年月を経たものが少く無い。従つて，強力な駆梅療法を行つても，血清梅毒反応を陰転化せしめる事は困難な場合が多い。此の場合，血清梅毒反応が陰転しないのは，真に身体内に病原体が残存していて血清反応が陽性を示すものか，或いは，病原体は死滅して仕舞つたにも拘らず，単に血清の瘢痕としての陽性を示すものか，これを決定する事は出来ない。従つて，何時迄，駆梅療法を続行すべきであるか，何時，駆梅療法を打切るべきかが臨床上問題となる。

　私は，第Ⅰ報に於いて，鞏膜炎或いは角膜炎の療法中，再燃が全く起きなくなる事を目標にして，眼科領域の駆梅療法を考察して見たい。

Since most luetic diseases in ophthalmological field are either congenital or are caused by late lues, it is difficult to make the standard test for lues negative, in spite of powe-rful antisyphilitic therapy. In such a case we cannot determine whether the positiveness shows only as the scar of serum,or it is shown really by the spirochaeta pallida still remai-ning in the body. Remote prognosis being considered, a question arises as to when antisy-philitic therapy should be discontinued.
