　「イペリツト」（Yperit）「以下Yと略す）は第1次世界大戦に於て，始めて独逸軍に依つて使用せられ，それ以来所謂化学戦に於て，広く応用せられた代表的な毒ガスである。

　今春，千歳米軍キヤンプに於て，日本人従業員26名にY中毒が起り，その中の2名は著しい眼炎の為北大眼科に入院した。平時に於てかかる例を見た事は実に珍らしい事である。私は此2例のイペリツト眼炎につき報告をする。

Two cases of Yperit-injury of the eye in the American military camp in Chitose (a suburb of Sapporo-city) are here reported, because such cases in the peacetime nowadays it might be very seldom to see. The matter is due to an uncareless treating of workers there of the ve-ssels of Yperit. Of course it had never been told them that there was in the vessels the dread-full medicine such as Yperit. At first 26 workers there have been injured more or less. 2 of them have got in eyes Erosio corneae.
