（5）斜視の視能矯正成績について

The results of orthoptics in strabismus

1．視能矯正法の目的と内容

　視能矯正という言葉は，Orthopticsを意味する。視格矯正という言葉を使つていたが，視能矯正の方がよいと思うので，この言葉にかえた。日本ではまだOrthopticsに対する適当な流通語がない。

　斜視の治癒には美容的治癒と機能的治癒とが区別せられる。夫々斜視の症状である所の眼球の偏位と両眼視機能の異常とに対向するものである。前者の治癒は斜視手術によつて，後者の治癒は視能矯正法によつて達せられる。但し，時には斜視手術のみによつて両眼視機能の異常も治る事があり，又逆に視能矯正法によつて眼球偏位も治る事がある。通常は両種治療法の併用によつて斜視の完全治癒がえられる。

The symptoms, progression and results in 15 case of strabismus (10 cases of divergent stra-bismus and 5 cases of convergent strabismus) in which the orthoptics were performed, werepresented and discussed.

The strabismus would be cured at times only by orthoptic training without surgery but much better with surgery. The remained angles of sqiiint in the cured strabismus considered from the fusion, retinal correspondence and Worth's four light test were less than 7°, the great majority were less than 5°. The cases showing over 8 degree angle of squint were not cured ones.
