緒言

　網膜色素変性症が網膜の神経上皮のprimaryheredodegenerative diseaseであるということは既に殆んど疑う余地がない。しかも今日未だ本症に対する確かな治療法も予防法も見出されていない。又，本症の暗順応機能についても幾多の解明されねばならない点が考えられる。私共は頸腺摘出術を施行したもののうち，比較的詳しく暗順応機能の検索を行つた本症の4例についてここに報告し諸先輩の御批判を戴きたいと考える。

The effect of extirpation of carotid body against Degeneratio pigmentosa retinae were stu-died in the dark adaptation function and central retinal arterial pressure. The dark adaption curve of this diseas has no essntial differene with the curve of healthy person, exclud that the secondary curve show the various course according the cases. The extirpation of carotid body increase the dark adaptation speed of this disease but the ihcrease of terminal sensitization to light were not recognized.
