I．緒言

　網膜の色素移動に関する研究は，1877年，Boll，Kuehne,Calvi氏等の報告以来甚だ多く，魚類，両棲類等の網膜に於いて，暗順応状態の時には，フスチン顆粒が收縮し，明順応状態では，外境界膜に向つて伸張する事が先ず知られたが，その他藥物学的刺戟，更には種々の神経刺戟，自律神経，内分泌との関係等に就いて，種々の研究が行われて来た。最近飯沼，山地氏等は，網膜の色素移動が視床下部の統御の下にあり，且つ視紅の再生と密接な関係を有する事を明かにした。

　Methionineの視紅再生に及ぼす影響に就いては第4報に於いて詳述するが，細谷氏等に依つて，dl-Methionineが視紅再生を促進する事が発見され，玉井氏が之を追試確認し，飯沼，山地氏等は，l-Methionineにも視紅再生促進作用のある事を実証している。一方Methionineの網膜色素移動に及ぼす影響に就いては，未だ何等の文献も見当らない状態である。私はl-Methionineの網膜色素移動に及ぼす影響を，時間的に追及したので，結果を次に報告する。

As a result of experiment in the bullfrogs about the effect of l-Methionine against the move-ment of retinal pigments, l-Methionine have been proved to have a function to contract the retinal pigments in the dark place and show the more marked effect in the peripheral retina.
