緒言

　網膜手術における裂孔閉塞手段の一つとして，冷凍手術療法が，症例によつてはジアテルミー凝固法に比肩し得る秀れた術式であることは，Lincoff^1）〜6）をはじめ多くの追試者によつて実証されているところである。われわれも，先年Union Carbide社製のCryosurgical unitを使用した網膜剥離手術の治験例を報告し^7）8），冷凍手術に対する評価を示したが，その経験をもとに最近約2年半の間にAmoils冷凍手術装置を用いてCryoretinopexyを行ない，良好な治療成績を得たので報告する。

Transscleral cryosurgical treatment was appli-ed to 50 eyes as a prophylactic procedure or as adjunct to detachment surgery. Thirty-four eyes had tears and lacttice degenerations with-out detachment and the remaining 16 eyes had retinal detachment of various degrees.

Cryoapplication was performed with Amoils cryoapparatus with the temperature set at -70℃ and the fundus lesion was monitored ophthalmoscopically. Prophylactic cryosurgical treatment was successful in all cases except one, in whom retinal detachment developed following transconjunctival cryoapplication.
