糖尿病性網膜症における血中生長ホルモン動態に関する研究（第1報）

Study on the Growth Hormone Secretion in Diabetic Retinopathy (Report I)

　糖尿病性網膜症の発生機序と生長ホルモンとの関係を知るため，糖尿病患者35例（糖尿病性網膜症の認められる者26例，認められないもの9例）と対照例（正常者）7例計42例につき血中生長ホルモンの動態を観察した。

　検査方法は一般検眼鏡的眼底検査および螢光眼底検査により網膜症の有無を確認した後，ブドウ糖およびL—アルギニン塩酸塩負荷による血中生長ホルモンの変動を経時的に観察し，これを2抗体法によるradioimmunoa—ssayにて測定した。同時に血糖値も測定し，これはglucose oxydase法によつて測定した。

In order to study the implication of growth hormone in the pathogenesis and progress of diabetic retinopathy, the change of serum growth hormone level after glucose or L-argi-nine monochloride administration was studiedin 7 normal subjects and in 35 diabetic patients with or without retinopathy.

The increase of growth hormone secretion in diabetic subjects was low compared with that in normal subjects, while the increase of secre-tion in diabetic subjects with retinopathy was greater than that in diabetic subjects having noretinopathy. The increase was more marked in subjects with severe retinopathy.
