I．緒言

　眼科領域における悪性黒色腫は，本邦において比較的少ないとはいえ，現在までにかなりの報告がなされている。これらのうち，脈絡膜に原発するものが多いことは外国の統計成績でも同様である。

　著者らは，外国においても少なく，本邦では15例目と思われる虹彩原発の悪性黒色腫を経験したので報告する。

A 18-year-old boy complained of a black tumor on the right iris. When the tumor was in the first stage, we tried to find the nature of this tumor by examining the cells microsco-pically obtained from the anterior chamber. We could not, however, determine whether the tumor was malignant or not. Later, the eye was enucleated because of the secondary glaucoma and the tumor was histologically diagnosed as a malignant melanoma of the iris.
